Something to watch out for...
A mate of mine had his PSP nicked whilst he was playing it on the train last week... Obviously the game was distracting him from paying attention to his fellow passengers, and as the door was closing, someone snatched the PSP out of his hands, and jumped out of the doors onto the platform, so that he couldn't even be chased...
This was in the Lewisham, SE London area.
Those wrist-straps may look crap, but I've started wearing mine when playing on the train.

That's way I NEVER play my PSP in public, the only handheld I've ever played in public was a GameBoy Color, and I wanted someone to steal it! But no one did, I guess they knew how useless it was by 2004......

Not suprised, its not the nicest area.
I pass through there everyday.
Its not foolproof but that strap is very handy.
Its a shame that we have to do this but i suppose thats the world we live in these days.

Wow, im sorry to hear that your friend got his PSP stolen as well. Yeah the world we live in is crawling with people like that. All I gotta say is, is learn from your mistakes. Keep an eye on your belongings and trust no one. Always keep an eye out on everything, cause that 1 second for something to happen could be your last.
Whenever im in a Public place, I don't pull out my PSP or other such expensive things. I try to maintain my average american with no money image so things like this dont happen. Always, i repeat, always think before you do.

oh and djp, never leave your things in your car. Especially your PSP. If you work at the mall, thats a big no no (hah i said nono).
My brother used to work at the mall and his car got broken into a few times. He never learned his lesson.
I'd say the smartest thing to do would be is if you got an old car, keep nothing inside, make it look boring so that nothing catches the bastards eye.
If you got a cd player, sell it and go buy yourself an ipod and cassette tape that has the wire comming out of it to connect an ipod or psp. then you can take the cassette and psp with you so you dont get jacked of your belongings! i do that and its fool proof.
No one would dare try to steal my stuff.
