Hi all,
I was wondering, is there a EU version of this eboot as I have found that when I downgraded I can no longer play my UMD film that I got with the PSP...It's a region 2 UMD... "Underworld" (it was free!)
Or is it down to having downgraded?
If there is does anyone have a link or copy I can have?
Cheers
Paul

Playing UMDs is not conected with the firmware, inless it is a UMD music. If "Underworld" is a UMD music it will only work with 1.52+ as 1.0, 1.5, and 1.51 do not have the umd music playback feature.

Hi Ceptic,
Underworld is a film (British made stuff about Werewolf & Vampires fighting each other) They've just made a sequal apparantly...
When I put the DVD in and go to the UMD in films it shows the background and I get a small box previewing the film but when I click to go in it is unable to run.
The only thing I can think of is regions. I'm wondering if there is only the 2.0 firmware in EU and that's why it doesn't run as the only 1.5 I have seen is Japan..
Any ideas?

I do not thik it is because you downgraded with another region of firmware. So it worked before you downgraded? Are you sure?

Ceptic,
I watched a bit of the film when I first got the PSP, just before I had to go out for Xmas dinner at the in-laws!
It also doesn't play the music vids and trailer on the free demo disc that I got with the PSP, although the game trailers do work. They had worked the day before I downgraded as I was watching the music vids at work and showing off my PSP to my colleagues!

So I am perplexed! The only thing that I can do is upgrade back to 2.0 to see if this cures it. But I don't want to mess around with the firmware on the PSP too much!

Update: 11.05GMT
I have now re-applied the 2.0 firmware as provided on my demo disc and all videos on the disc are working.
I'll downgrade again and retry but I am pretty confident that when I do the vids will not work. Will update after that.
Update: 12.41GMT
Have now downgraded back to 1.5 using Jap firmware and get "disc cannot be played when trying the trailer on the demo disc" Same with the music videos.

I do not understand this, the movies should be working. Have you tried the US 1.5 dump? I am not surprised by the fact you can't play the music umds because you need 1.52+ for that. I don't know what to tell you, just try again with the US dump again.

Right, sorry didn't do anything with my PSP yesterday. Installed the US 1.5 eboot and still get "disc cannot be played" when trying to launch trailer from demo umd.
Think I am just going to have to admit defeat and upgrade to 2.0 when I want to watch a film..

I find this odd as well. I have a 1.5 PSP. It came purchased originally as a 1.5 I upgraded to 2.00, didn't like it and went back to 1.5. I recently tried my Demo Disc and all the Video files are working.
Roguemeister, dont be sucked into buying UMD movies! its a big joke if you ask me. Why not buy DVD's if anything? hell sooner or later the PSP will be outdated and all the money you wasted on it will be a pile of obsolete shit.

Hi Acid,
I am guessing it is to do with the UK version more than anything. That there isn't a UK 1.5 eboot available.
I didn't get the PSP to play films, but I did get 2 free with it so at some point I will watch them.
You are true about it getting outdated, but then again I still have a Sega Genesis and a few games and do play it now and again...so hopefully I will be the same with the PSP!

You see, thats the thing with roms/isos! They're meant for preservation.. for when the system is so outdated, the games are hard to find and the company isn't profiting from them anymore.
UMD movies is a totally different thing.
