Been playing the UMD version of X Men Legends 2 and now that i am in Act 4 the game freezes after a while and the psp shuts off. Is this a problem with the game or is my psp defective? I'm thinking that my psp may have a problem but just putting this question out there to see if anybody else has had this problem.

Does it freeze at the same spot every time or in differant places of the game?

Before it used to freeze at around the same spot, but then periodically it would let me progress through the level and freeze at various other points. I returned the game and replaced it with a new one and this problem still occurs but with less frequency.

then your psp has a problem or you keep getting crappy umds

My copy of X-men Legends II works fine but I'm not sure If I've reached the same point as you. Does it only happen on Act 4?

well id suggest you buy one of those UMD cleaner thingys i saw it in a mag recently and try cleanin ur UMD it may just be that ur psp head is dirty also, there may also be a "head cleaner" like there is for CD drives or tapes...

i think it's the psp most likely. If thats the case then return your psp to Sony and let them fix it.
