I'm new to the PSP scene and learned quite a bit. although there is one section I haven't heard any comments about... overclocking

Has anybody tried overclocking the PSP? I would be nice to have a minor speed increase, especially for Midnight Club 3 since it tends to run a bit choppy. I tried calling Rockstar, but they were like "yeah, we will make note of that for the next version". I'm about ready to take it back to the store for a full refund for faulty software mad.gif Once I get a 2gb mem stick I will try to run the ISO for it. If that doesn't fix it then I'm headed for the store mellow.gif

I've run the NES and SNES emulators and I can tell a noticeable difference when running at 222mhz vs 333.

The psp usually goes at 222mhz which is only two thirds of its capabilities of 333mhz. Using a .iso and a a UMD loader (Fasloader, UMD Eulator) you can run a umd game, music, or movie at either 222mhz, 288mhz (not sure), or 333mhz.

even though overclocking the psp processor will make some games run better it'll burn up your battery life faster than normal, so i would assume that more high capacity batteries will be sold for psp as more advanced games release.

Overclocking is when you go over the specified clock speed. In this case it would be going over 333mhz. The PSP is underclocked to 222mhz.
