Changing the A/C input unit on the psp (the yellow slot for power) and month later after no mishaps, the psp begins to randomly power down (suspend/what'd happed when the power switch is flicked). To start up again, the battery must be removed and placed back in again (there's no cover, so batt's wedged in with a bit of folded paper) and even then it doesn't start up all the time. Opened it to check, everything is as it should be.

It charges fine and since that's all it's meant to do, should that happen?
It's 1am here so I'm jus gon use RazorG606's images from his thread:

That yellow thing is the component I replaced. And the problem didn't begin immediately after.
Help plz!

Just found out some things.
- Connected the charger and after a worryingly short amount of time, charging light goes off like it's done. Yet it was at 67-65% earlier.
- Remove and reattach charger and switch on: fine. Go to Battery Info and while charging light is on, charge level "dash", hours left "dash" and battery status "dash".
- Leave it on in this state then bam it goes off.
- Won't start on it's own so disconnect and reconnect power and go back to Batt info.
- Now batt at 97% and in the time it took to type this jumps to 99. Then 100 when this line is written.

Disconnect power now says, batt will last 5:35.
- Just flashed that there's no battery and I'm running on external power for about a sec.
- Went off at 97% and wouldn't turn on. Reconnected the power and it starts charging and responds to power switch. Now telling me batt's at 88%.

It doesn't sound good at all.
Does it work fine if you don't use a battery but just have the power cable plugged in?
Terrarist
Yup.
