DARK_ALEX RELEASES TIME MACHINE v.01

Heads up, Dark AleX's Time Machine is now out! If you remember we first heard word of this homebrew back in January when it was demonstrated to install 1.50 kernel on the PSP Slim, then again earlier this month, when it installed firmware 2.70 also on the Slim.

Here's what this baby can do, straight from the readme:

The Timemachine is a program to load previous firmwares and custom firmwares from memory stick using pandora. Like devhook, but working throgh pandora and custom ipl's, it would work even if the flash and nand ipl of the machine is destroyed.

The timemachine is useful to run software that is not supported anymore, and also as a way of booting psp's even if the internal firmware is destroyed. It can also be useful for developers to test their homebrew in different firmwares.

Users are advised to take a look at the readme for more info on the homebrew program According to the readme, Time Machine v0.1 works with the following firmwares:

* Original 1.50 (can only be loaded on the phat)
* 1.50 with some 3.40 hw modules. Can be loaded on both, phat and slim.
* 3.40 OE (can only be loaded on phat)
* 3.60 M33 (can only be loaded on slim)

So since I have yet to test this you actually have to keep the pandora battery in when you boot it into another firmware? I mean maybe you can switch the battery if you plug it in first, but then again I'm not sure.

We need some testers to see how this works exactly.

I only have a 'Standard' PSP but I'll see how it works with that sometime today.
I think you'll be able to switch battery once you've booted up but I don't know for sure.

I just tried it and it worked fine when I took the Pandora's Battery out once it had booted.
Since I don't have another battery I just kept the mains power cable in and it was still working fine in 3.40 OE-A.
So I think you should be able to switch battery if you have a power cable plugged in.
It wouldn't be very convenient but if you wanted to you could do it.

Thanks Nyght I'll test it out, see how 1.5 on the slim is.

EDIT: Okay just to confirm Nyght the PSAR you gave me works 100% I am going to add it to my post, only because the normal updates are easy to find the 3.60 PSAR isn't.

I cant figure this out. Maybe I am dumb or something , How do you get it to boot in the wanted fw?

Once you've installed it you need to hold the key that's associated with the firmware you want to boot.
So if you have left it on the default setting, holding Circle while turning on your PSP should load 1.50 with 3.40 modules.
