Does this game require the 2.0 firmware like GTA or can you just do the version changer trick so you can play the game?

not sure about the UMD, but ISO works fine on UMD Emulator.

I have the iso too, yet I can't stay at any inn and sleep because it will freeze up. I want the full experience, so either I use the full rip and no space for music on my psp or I buy the game, but I'm leaning towards buying the game.

I found a 694mb iso. What is the full size iso. Does anyone have an iso running with no bugs? Is the game fun?

The original ISO is 1.2 gigs, what can be ripped out to make it fit on a 1 gig stick?

ive got 4 popolocrois iso's and none of them work...
the japanese version freezes at the newgame screen..
and the USA version doesnt load at all

so how did you guys get it to work??

My iso is 926mb and I got it to run on UMD Emulator v0.8c with copy load and Use boot.bin switched to on. I don't know whether it will crash when I sleep at an inn as i've not played it long enough to find out. The game looks pretty sweet though. I'm a big fan of Japanese RPGs.

maybe you're not using umd umu v0.8C... only V0.8.

I was with the very same problem as you, none of the isos were working and that was because I thoutgh I was using the v0.8c and in fact I had the v0.8.
When I read the Psychocandys' post I realised I didn't have those options like copy load and use boot.bin.... Thanks for your configuration tips Psychocandy, they were very usefull.
I also have the 926 MB version because hopefully there aren't many cutted movies.

i am having some problems with the game ,
when u reach Bryonia and talk to sabo after some time the game just freezes...

Hi again, the config I ment was the "use boot.bin" stuff he wrote previously.
Step by step, what I did was copy umd emulator to memory stick and created a folder called ISO in the memory stick root.
Then I pasted the Iso game in the folder ISO.

When I entered the UMD emulator menu, I put the options "use boot.bin" and "copy load" on and selected the game and hit X and the game automatically started.
Before I tought I would have to go to game menu to start the game but I got always error. Then I realised the game has to be lauched inside the UMD emulator menu.

I saw this because I exit the game and in the menu there was still the game icon though I could not start it, I had to go again to the emulator and start it from there
If you did everything like I did I don't have any idea why it wont work

Hope you get it to work, the game is worth all the trouble

ive figured it out! I folowed the steps you gave but it still didnt work. WHY?.
The problem was that i used UMDgen to create an ISO
but it wasnt neccesary at all i d only have drag and rop this in the ISO folder,

Hi, now I can answer you since I jost got to this scene. My game crashed too and my guess is that, when they ripped the game they cut some movies in order to fit the 1GB memory stick. If you pay atencion you'll notice that the game crashes when sabo is about to tell (show you) some stuff about the past of Bryonia. I'm pretty sure that a movie was coming next and now it wont work without the movie

I'm considering getting a 2 GB memorystick and install the full game, this game is awsome and the MS will be usufull for future games

But prepare yourself to get the game crashed in the future. My advice is to save before you enter the flying boat, remember this

Ok, I found out the solution! Like I said, the crash was because of the removed cutscenes so I saved game, deleted the 926 MB Iso (kept the saved games of course) and installed the 462 MB version. I loaded the last save game and it was ok, I got past the talk with sabo

Now if it crashes again I'll just switch again to 926 MB and so on

Hope it help anybody with this problem

p.s. I don't know if I can tell where to get the 462 MB version, so if anyone needs help just pm me

It doesn't show you any movie but it shows you a blackscreen with a logo in it, something like "g-team". Then, for the rest of the game that logo apears lots of times and some of them come with an option asking whether you would like to save. Maybe this is what causes the instability in the game.

I was also thinking about swapping again to the bigger MS but I was afraid it would crash again and I would lose precious minutes of play so I'll just keep the smaller one
By the way, I've been playing non stop since my last post and until now no problems at all.

The game is getting more and more fun, wonderfull game

well i have finally found away around that part i told ya before but
i kinda split the thing in half....

like i got the full version and placed
the first half of the movies in one iso and the other in another that
way i can play with all movies and it all fits on my 1GB card ^^

so finally saw that moive and now playing the rest of it now...
cant wait till it gets much better as u said.

Well I said that the game gets better in my opinion, not everybody may like it
I had a nice surprise, after I made everything that I was suposed to and saved "my mother", I tought the game was finished and my surprise: Another adventure begins

hehe well its 2 games in one btw...
its just remade so it blends together as one whole story
also a funny thing as i was looking through the movie files ,
they have the japanese trailers for the game in it and there are no way to access them or maybe when u finish the game or some thing... just a little FYI for u hehe ^^

yeah, there is some japanese in the u.s release, you can change the text in the items description to japanese and vice versa. IMO, you'd think they would have realesed it sooner if it was just translated.

I had the same problem with the game freezing after you talk to the dog. I had to use the 1.2g ISO instead of the 900 and something gig ISO, and it resolved the problem. Using version UMD 8c and 2 gig memory stick. Bigger memory sticks are the way to go now, cause most true rips are over a gig now, and nothing is cut out of the game to cause glitches and stuff. Very cool game though. Nice to see a decent RPG out for the PSP!!

If you have SUSHI release you must rebuild the iso with patch. I've done this and i've very good working release. Just go and search this site with list of releases and patches: http://www.abgx.net/filename/index.php?ch=2

according to that site, Sushi's rips of Popolocrois were nuked, is there another version that works?

nuked or not nuked... i download this nuked version and download the patch as well and after all my Popolocrois game works well. but sushi release alone without patch don't works - it's confirmed.
