Full Version: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for PSP Canceled?

Amidst the rumors and two launch date delays it seemed as though Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the PlayStation Portable would never arrive.

Many speculated that, as huge of a game as it is, that it would never fit on the tiny UMD. I know many PSP fans were craving this game, as I was too.

However, is it safe to say that this game is officially canceled for release on the PSP? I pre-ordered Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion almost a year ago and have been marking off every day on my calendar until today.

It was to my surprise that I received a call from an authorized number from GameStop stating, "...Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been canceled by the issuing vendor. You can get a full refund of your pre-order or choose another item..."

After all the speculation on it releasing and absolutely no media content (screen shots, videos, et.c) months before it's pending arrival I just had to get in touch with my friends at Bethesda Softworks to confirm what I was hearing and stop crying if it wasn't true. However, it was unfortunate that I was told they would "not comment" at this time.

Bottom line, be on the look out for a possible cancellation press release or even of a new project title and deadline.

This is news I definitely didn't want to hear. I wasn't much of a fan of Elder Scrolls until it came out on PS3 and was really looking forward to the portable version. Such is life.

I read that it would be more of a dungeon crawler, not very "oblivion-ish", IMHO.
