I am hoping to get a Xbox360 but have still not decided if i should buy a HDTV as well, I have a 20" Dell monitor with VGA, DVI, s-video connection and i have read that you can connect a 360 to a monitor with good results, but will a HDTV give better results that its worth spending another £700? Thanks for your replies.

I've got the 26" Dell monitor (the one that supports 1080p) and a Samsung 32" LCD screen. I'd say that yes, it's worth it, but only if you're willing to fork out for the VGA cable. I hooked up my Samsung via composite and it just didn't cut it like the VGA cable did.

Looks stunning in hi-def though, a massive improvement over standard def.

If you like looking at a bigger screen, get a big HDTV. If you don't care, get a PC monitor and a VGA adaptor. It's the same number of pixels either way, just the HDTV is generally bigger.

I have my Xbox 360 linked up to my 19inch lcd and i have to say the results are nice but if you ask me they still don't compare to that of High Definition TV's the contrast ratio on them is just so much better but again it all depends on the hardware you are running.

i go for vga its beter in long run hdtv is for tv not games if you live on pc gameign then vga will be beter

hdtv is better IF u hav ethe money because the monitor messes up the aspect ratio for games like elder scrolls 4 and pgr3

get an hdtv that way when you play dead or alive volleybal... you can see your favorite chicks on the big screen bouncing around lol
