hi there i am new to this forum i need help in trying to get my psp working again my son said he dropped it and now it wont start up.there is power going in to the psp but the power switch only stay on for about 60 seconds then it turn it self off,turn this time the screen does not come on any help much appreciated rolleyes.gif

For a dropped PSP theres not much we can help with. I would try taking it back to a store and see if you can swap one out. If not, well it could be many different things. Everything from a bad screen to power issues to a broken motherboard.

if it is still under warranty maybe you can have it fixed for free

true. it could be the motherboard failure or the screen itself. =/

yeah, go to the store where you bought it and hope for the best.
(if you got warranty, you're pretty lucky if they swap it for a new one...)

i would discourage trying to prying the unit open by yourself for troubleshooting purposes, you might cause more damage than what you already have.

among other things, here's a few queries that might point you in the right direction:

- have you tried powering it up while charging?

- about the battery compartment, did you check if the pins make contact to the battery terminals? might be loose somewhere since your son dropped it.
