Okay so I have been thinking, I was looking around the site thinking what could this near perfect creation use. And it dawned on my, this site could use a PSP Customization section. I see a lot of users ask "Where can I get custom gameboot, icons ect." Because many users like most of ourselves would enjoy customizing their PSP, and the inconvient truth is that this site doesn't have enough icons gameboots whatever. And what is does scattered amongst the homebrew section making it impossible or too hassling to find. So I figured that maybe we could create a PSP customization section, it could be right in the PSP Downloads section I would gladly run or help run it. Well just let me know what you guys think I am opening to any kind of CONSTRUCTIVE critisim.

I was thinking the same thing when I made my topic...it would eventually die out with less replies, but I would have thought maybe a sub-forum in the homebrew section would also be an ideal place....download section is fine too.
I'm glad you bought this up Gantz.

Well the reason I think a subforum in the Homebrew section would be bad is it would allow leechers to raise their post count while they leech.

Unless we implement the no post count thing in that one sub-forum...

True but I guess I'm just partial to this being in the downloads section.

Actually, I think we should have it in the downloads, so that all our non-posts are near each other. I hope an admin/mod looks at this soon. I would b glad to upload 100's of XMB's.

I think as always with things like these where there are multiple files, that no replies should be allowed. This allows for a clean section like the faq area where its easy to find stuff and doesnt get cluttered with crap.

The only problem I would have with that is I enjoy being thanked for my uploads, so I am very partial to the Doesn't Raise Post Count Method.

good start, and we should think about this more in depth

I think it is a good idea to have it clean, but I also agree with Gaint that it is great to recieve recognition

This is a good idea in the works
NyghtcrawleR
Recognition is nice, but those people who post probably mostly could give a crap. They say thanks because they have to. If you want to keep it organized, no replies. What you can do is have separate threads dedicated to requests, questions, thank you's, etc.

True, very true, but I mean would it be any different than any of the other download sections if people could post, and say thanks. I mean no matter what the first post always has the links, and it's not that hard to find ones way around, the only problem would be spammers. I hope this becomes a reality I have been posting many PSP Customization topics in the homebrew section they seem to be doing well.

Mine seems to not be doing well sad.gif It has 260 views and 22 replies..most replies were by me anyway. The reason we need replies is to keep our topic active and to not let the good topics get lost. Even a few thankyou's will make an uploader feel appreciated and make them want to keep uploading.

i think this would be delicious idea!

Or it could just get stickied...

Okay so Harry said more in depth, by this I take it he ment how this would be set up Okay so here is goes

PSP Downloads Section (being where this'll be so that way there's the no post increase set-up

Subforum: PSP Customization Section (just to keep it's title General) (everything in from here is in the PSP Customization Section)

Sub Section is PSP Customization (stating that we the uploaders can and will not be held responsible for any thing that may happen, upload format (< by this I mean like: What it is, What it does, Where it Goes, How Much free space will be needed, ect.)

Subforum: XMB/PSP Themes

Subforum: Font Mod

Subforum: Sound Mod

Subforum: Miscellenous

As I said before I will galdly run this, just as Devok sorta runs the anime section, I have plenty of free time so keeping an eye out for spammers, and making sure the forum stays in tact and active is no problem. It's the one this this site lacks, lets make it a reality.

Yes, I agree that is the only thing that makes me need to go to another PSP site..also ROMs.

Um about that..I'll PM you.
NyghtcrawleR
This is the thing about having replies. Its usually not a problem until you start uploading a ton of things into one thread like Bomberz and his xmb themes. When people start replying, then your themes cant continue in order since you have to make multiple posts and they will fall in between comments, meaning the farther into the thread the harder to really find. It needs to be easy to scroll and look through things. If its not it becomes a nuisance. I understand thank yous, but seriously its not needed. Just see how many people viewed the page to see how popular it was. And the good topics can be stickied, plus I dont think we'll see pages and pages of threads. Theres not that many things like that.

Okay for the XMB/PSP themes section I completely agree there should be no posts what sp ever allowed. As that will need pictures and having it mixed amongst the pages is a bad idea I completely support that, but couldn't we for the remaining subfourms allow the no post increase, because there'll be no photos, and as far as I know, there's no link limit on a post, so there we could allow the users to say thanks right? So pretty much like this.

PSP Downloads Section

Subfourm: PSP Customization Section

(Inside PSP Customization Section)

Sub Section is PSP Customization (stating that we the uploaders can and will not be held responsible for any thing that may happen, upload format (< by this I mean like: What it is, What it does, Where it Goes, How Much free space will be needed, ect.)

Subforum: XMB/PSP Themes (< Here's there's no posting what so ever aside from the XMB and PSP Themed topics, so noone but the uploader could make a post in one of the topics EX: My Bleach PSP/XMB Theme I could post that and add on to it, but noone could reply back in it)

Subforum: Font Mod (<Post does not increase meaning users could say thanks and so on and so forth, seeing as how there's no pics involved and you can alway add on to the original post.)

Subforum: Sound Mod (<Post does not increase meaning users could say thanks and so on and so forth, seeing as how there's no pics involved and you can alway add on to the original post.)

Subforum: Miscellenous (<Post does not increase meaning users could say thanks and so on and so forth, seeing as how there's no pics involved and you can alway add on to the original post.)

So does this make everyone happy? I think this'll be a splendid set up, so someone preferablely a mod or an admin please give me your thoughts.

Sounds good to me. And it's nice to see that you've thought it through.
My only concern (as with most "new forums" ideas) is that of activity.
Will there be enough people uploading to the customisation forums on a regular basis?
Is there enough demand for such customisations to warrant a separate forum?
If the answer to both of those is "Yes", then I will support the idea.

I think there will be plenty of support the uploading bit will be on the downside and as long as someone is adding that's what counts right, but support is no problem, my topics have anywhere from 10 to 20 posts, and plenty of views so it may not be as popular as the Adult Movies section, but there are people interested.
