Custom Firmware 3.50 OE on its way!

I won’t bother attempting translation of the entire french article over at PSP-Gen; however, its been stated that Dark_AleX and Mathieulh have commenced development on Custom Firmware 3.50 OE yesterday.

Mathieulh and Dark AleX are indeed working on CFW 3.50 OE and the project is already 5% complete and should be ready as quickly as previous custom firmwares. Reports mentioned that the two started working on it only yesterday just after DAX's school exams.

The following information came from PSP-Gen's update with Mathieulh. The French text was run through translator, so it might be a bit hard to understand:

The innovations are very simple, the 3.50 OE will allocate quite simply the use of the kernel 3.50. New demonstrations now require this firmware, various plays will not delay before being provided with the kernel 3.50 obligatory. In light, no large innovation, if it is not the passage to the 3.50.

So we should hopefully see it soon. Maybe even by early next week.

Stop making custom firmwares that are pointless, like going from 3.40 to 3.50 and REALLY work on develping downgraders

^agreed. pointless to crack every single damn fw and make custom ones out of them.

I'll third that. There are many PSP users who could greatly use downgraders for t3h higher FWs. But good news, guess when my buddy sends me his CFW PSP I'll update it to 3.5 OE if it's out.

I think youre wrong here.

1. Dark Alex has focused mostly on custom firmwares, while teams like n00bz and fanjita have worked on downgrades and such. Its different groups of people, so you cant say one is at fault for not doing the other.

2. I dont think 3.50 is completely useless. Reasons being it grants you compatibility with all games out so far. It also gives you access to the new remote play on the ps3 which requires a 3.50 psp. How is compatibility for any of these reasons a bad thing?

well if people want remote play that much they can upgrade to orginaly old sony 3.5 firmware, im tired of tellin noobs that u cant downgrade 3.11+, i mean i dont know how hard it is to crack a firmware but i havent heard any news about any downgrader and it doesnt sound like anythings gonna happen soon. maybe if were lucky its soon

Are you honestly serious? The point of custom firmware is to let you have the best of both worlds, homebrew and official features. Thats like saying we might as all still be on 1.50 and using devhook. And like I said its not dark alex's job to create downgraders, thats not really what he does. And honestly, its not really anyones job...you cant complain about that at all since its nobodys obligation.

Plus I'd like to see you crack a firmware... Sony tries not to create loopholes and if one happens to exist, how easy do you think it honestly is to find one? I mean please, get real.

seriously that guy is just a forum troll. his big exploits are finding a 3.4 folder in the system folder and learning how to turn off his psp. now he is a custom firwmare programmer? his poll thread shows he doesnt know oe from official. and probably doesnt even know what devhook is.

and i agree with nyght people act like they are owed stuff. seriously if it was so easy to find an exploit they would have found one already. the downgrader isnt the hard part finding the exploit is. and if they never do or decide not to then thats fine too. they have done enough they dont owe anyone anything.

bet you the new relases are going to try to upgrade your FW to play... i for one would rather stay at 3.03OE-C and not worry about it, but wheh D&D tacts and FF tacts are realease im betting i will need 3.5...
