my computer had no problem with my psp always connected and was fine on my xp, but today when i tried to connect my psp usb to the computer and wanted to copy stuff, my computer said (not connecting malfunctioned error) any idea?

Try another USB port or I recommend you to try the USB port with your Digital camera or pendrive. If the port do not works with those I mention then try reinstall your USB driver. Also you may want to try it with another USB cable if posibble.

I hate when stuff like this happens for no (apparant) reason.

Some times when you have to many different USB devices and you plug them in that same USB port, for some reason it stops recognizing some of devices. What I do is, go to computer management and uninstall de USB drivers from the root, the computer recognize the USB ports right back automatically, then try to plug-in your PSP again.

i still get the error even reinstalling all the drivers.

Have you tried with another USB port? another USB cable? How do you reintall the USB Driver?

Try restoring your psp to its default settings.

try another PC... also try to disable your plugins... (it might help)
