can anyone offer any help to take my standard psp on 3.10 and change the firmware to one that allows me to use an emulator

your screwed until there is a downgrader. dont upgrade anymore!

the only thing u can do is play music and videos, and look at pictures

yea, basically only what sony wants you to do with it. like phlak said, stop using official upgrades, it only makes it harder to downgrade.

indeed, cant do a damn thing with sony's weaksauce firmware. Im still kicking myself for upgrading to 3.03 offical when my psp Had 2.71.. i dont have a copy of gtalcs and dont plan to, none of my friends have a psp either and.. i dont do ebay.

Never upgrade your psp to sony firmware if you want to play homebrew, isos, etc...The higher you upgrade the longer youll have to wait for an exploit to be found.
