Here is my new PSP question:

How can i get a 2.71 SEC on my 3.10 OE.

Currently, my PSP is installed with the latest FW of Dark_Alex. The 3.10 OE A2.
For some reasons, i need to have the "other' Dark_Alex FW which is the 2.71 SEC.

So i'am asking a PSP specialist, how can i emulate a 2.71 SEC on my 3.10 OE A2??
With devhook? If yes, can you tell me how to do this? I also know that it's possible to create a mix of 2 firmware.

I need to know if it's possible to emulate a version of FW prior of the one installed on the PSP.
Like emulating a 2.71 on a 3.10.

Has anyone tried or done this before?

Well if its a homebrew thing you want to use then you will need to downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade again to 2.71SE but otherwise you could just use devhook to emulate it. If your needing help with downgrading then look for a tutoial on google - its realy simple

Do you know if you can perform this? All the tutos on the net speaks about emulating a version of firmware who's higher than the one installed on the PSP. I need to know if it's possible to emulate a version of FW that's lower than the one installed.
And specially,, Do you know if Devhook can emulate a CFW? That's the same on the problem on the net, people uses devhook to emulate Sony's official FW. I wan't to emulate a custom firmware...

Believe me, i searched already the whole internet and nobody talks about this type of questions.
That's why i need a guy or a feedback from someone who tried this before.
I believe this is not common questions but, i just need to know if it's possible to do this.

It has been asked before on these forums whether or not DevHook can emulate custom firmware.
And I remember posting that it cannot emulate custom firmware.

Although, in all honesty, I haven't actually tried it myself.

I think the problem may be in getting the custom firmware in the format that DevHook requires it.
Because it is normally the official EBOOT.PBP which is extracted using a PSAR dumper.
I don't think that there is an equivalent for a DATA.DXAR file, unless it is the same format as DATA.PSAR.

It is discussed much because most people would just install the custom firmware outright, rather than emulating it.

Well i dont think its possible to emulate a CFW but yes it is deffinetly possible to emulate a lower official firmware such as 2.71

But why on Earth would you want to emulate 2.71? Its the same features as 3.03OE?

The reason why I need the 2.71 SEC, is because it's the only version who can stream iso over Wifi with Irshell 3.1.

I tested it. I installed a 2.71 SEC with irshell 3.1 and I can launch Iso over wifi via stonecut's iso plugin bundled with Irshell 3.1.
All the game prior to FW 2.71 works fine. All the latest iso after 2.71 doesn't work and so PSX games...

So, i'am trying to find a trick to make it work with a CFW 3.10.

Actually i'am trying to find out why Irshell 3.1 wifi feature (nethostfs.exe)in mode 2.71 doesn't work. It works when i boot irshell in mode 1.5.

And, i'am trying to make work Chunglam"s mod devhook in CFW 3.10
