i was in there a while ago trying to download a movie and this thing that tells you that its hidden til you post i have noticed that allot of people don't really care and post just anything to get to the download is this really helping at all because this can cause huge amounts of spam form leechers ....just a thought

In the User Contributed Downloads, the posts do not affect your post count, so it is quite easy to notice spammers as they have very few or zero posts.

Aside from the measure we have in place that adw888 mentioned theres also the fact that the ''thank you'' posts help to improve forum posting statistics.

oh ok then so its ok to spam in that section to raise the boards statistics? but that really does encourage the leechers doesnt it

Well 1. Moderators and see if the person is just downloading and 2. It stops guests downloading Also its polite to say thank you when someone dose something nice for you

well some users just reply only for the benefit of downloading the file... some don't even bother to thank properly and they'll just type any letters just to have a reply in order to download the file...

Yeh thats true and also some people download what they want and go, also the fact that you know when they reply that they have basicly said they want to download it and cant say that they dint dl it etc

Yea man i dont think it's really spam cause there not getting a post count(but thats only in the user contrubuted section) you guys should add somehting that makes it so your posts have to be like at lease 20 characters

No we use the hidden feature for us to know who is downloading them, but all they need to do is type "sjdkeurhfnvjfkdflollo" or something similar then it would be the same as saying "ty"

If any of you speak to the member Pakooo, he has his own forum-download site, and many links are stolen from here, and when i brought it up on his site he banned me... so i just warned him again and took his posting priveldegs away so he would stay here, just not download

But he can still make a new account i think you should ban his ip
