Hi!
Just won a psp on eBay and I am awaiting it's arrival. In the mean time, I would like to get the other items I will need. Is it best if I have an unpatched copy of GTA LCS? I see the ones on eBay are very expensive.
Also, can I use any type of memory card? Where is the best place to buy them?
THanks in advance!

Just found this:
"but any firmware from 2.81 to 3.03 need a Grand Theft Auto: LCS disc to downgrade"
Looks like I will have to wait till it arrives to see what the current firmware is.

Well, it finally arrived! It has 3.03 firmware on it, so I guess my next step is to look for a copy of GTA! If anyone knows anyone with a copy for sale, let me know! Otherwise, I will be going to eBay.
I went to Circuit City yesterday and got a 2 meg san disk memory stick. $40 after a $20 rebate, looked like a good deal to me!
It was late last night when I finally got the time to sit down with it. I didn't get any games yet, so I spent some time with the browser and managed to download the few game demos at psp.com. Nothing too interesting there. Can anyone recommend some good general web sites? I don't know if I just have to get used to this thing, but it seems to be a royal pain to navigate through a site when you can only see a small part of the page on your screen at one time!
My task for today is to transfer some video over to the psp, maybe some photos and music, too. If the weather clears up, I may go to the store and pick up a game or two.
WooHoo!!!!!

for the browser, try changing your settings in tools in the browser, see what you like best for format, once you get used to one it's pretty easy, not the best but at least it does it's job

Thanks, neverused! I hope that will help.
Does anyone know if there is a way to transfer video files from my pc using my router? It seems that I do not have a usb cable, guess I will have to pick one up when I go out. I read about one that will charge the psp at the same time, that sounds good.

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who has a copy. I will check out the secondhand stores though, will have to see how to determine if it is the correct version first. That's a great idea, thanks!
I am having a blast with it, so far and it's only going to get better as time goes on. I found a bunch of demo games that I downloaded and have also been watching videos on it. Still looking for more demos to download.

The 2 gig sticks are going for $40, got one last week and I saw an ad for this week's sales for $40. Maybe it's time to pick up another one.
Still trying to find GTA:LCS so I can downgrade. Tried blockbuster, but they have a later version of the game. Oh well! It was worth a shot.

My unpatched copy of GTA:LCS arrived today. I am a little nervous going into this as I would really hate to brick my psp. Any help or suggestions there would be great. The directions to downgrade to 1.5 say to format your memory stick and have an extra one handy. I only have one, I sure hope that will get me through this!

Cool, I am waiting for my friend to help me out, just to make sure. Yep, once I downgrade, I will upgrade to oec.
I think the sale is over on those 4gb sticks, unless that was another sale I saw, I will check it out.
Thanks!
