Okay , I downloaded the firmware update , I thought I could just burn it onto a CD-R and put it in my PS3 ( kind of like the 360 BC updates ) and it did not let me do it that way.

So I was wondering is there a way I can put the update on my PSP and put it on the PS3? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I cannot download it off of the net because right now where I live all they have is sattelite broadband which sucks because it disconnects alot and I am moving in four weeks but I just really want to go ahead and get this update.

I never thought about putting it on the PSP. I guess just give it a shot. I dont think you have any chance of hurting anything by trying. Make sure to let us know if you try it out!

Honestly if you cant go online bc of your internet why do you want the update that bad? The update is only going to better your online experience that you obviously cant have at this point in time.

Well I just wanted the update because everytime I try to download it it just eventually times out but on Xbox Live I can download demos and stuff and it never times out on me so I figured it was just something with their updater and my internet but I thought maybe the PS Store would be like Marketplace on my 360 .

Well I dont really know if it would work or not seeing as I dont know how the updates are set up on the ps3. But if your connection is bad, i dont know if its worth updating yet anyway.

Well as I said I can download fine on Xbox Live it is just playing in a match is what bogs it down. But oh well we are moving in about 3 or 4 weeks anyway so I will have cable again. I can wait till then.

try using a memory stick or flash drive or something. im not sure but i think you also need the update to be in a folder named UPDATE. try goin to the playstation site, i think they have a guide
