Hey there smile.gif

I just bought a white PSP from my friend and it was already in 1.5 firmware. I want to upgrade to 3.03 oe-a but I was advised that I should unflash any POC firmware that I have on and to reformat my memory stick..

Now can anyone tell me if I have the POC firmware?

When I turned on my PSP and pressed R, recovery mode came up.. and one of the options was

"Press square to unflash the POC firmware"

is this DAX's firmware and if I press square to unflash the firmware, what will it do?

and I saw this other thing on the internet.. is pressing square on the recovery menu the same as using slasher's unflasher?

thanks alot. i really dunno what's in this psp cuz my friend did stuff to it and i didn't really think it mattered. thanks!

Since pressing R brought you to the recovery mode then yes you have Dark_AleX's POC custom firmware, and yes pressing Square to unflash the firmware will remove it (the custom firmware) and you should then have a clean 1.50 that you can install 3.03 OE on.

I'm not sure exactly but probably, yes.

Actually I'm pretty sure you can put any of custom firmwares without keeping a clean 1.50. Basically If you have the custom 1.5 firmware it should be fine either way. If you want to be safe remove it, but I'm pretty sure you dont have to.

i can tell u that u can go ahead and update to 3.03 oe without having to uninstall the old POC I DID IT myself (updated from 1.5 POC to 3.03 oe without any probs) since dark_alex's custom firmware installer basically formats flash0 i wouldn't see y u couldn't....

I went from a modded 1.5 to 3.02 OE-A and from a modded 3.02 OE-B 3.03 OE-A without any problems.

YES! Thanks guys! Now I can update my PSP without worries. Pray for a non-bricked, 3.03 oe-a psp please! biggrin.gif

why are you going to 303a when 303 OE C just came out
jdm_ist
You need OE-A to go to OE-B to go to OE-C.

You need OE-A to go to OE-B to go to OE-C.

Actually, you can go straight to 3.03 OE-C according to the Readme file:
QUOTE
This is the 3.03 OE-C update.

It can be only installed as a full installation, due to some substantial changes in the bootstrap.
Both, update maker and the flasher work in 1.50, 2.71 SE (whatever version), and 3.02/3.03 OE (whatever version)

Oh, didn't know that one.
