With the Electronic Entertainment Expo now a thing of the past, the search for a new way for game geeks to congregate has continued. IDG World Expo announced tentative plans for a "GamePro Expo" in 2006, and today revealed the winner of its expo naming contest, Californian Dante Padre, who coined the "Entertainment for All Expo."
The catch? Next Generation confirmed with IDG that it'll cost people $100 a pop to attend. Yikes.
Unlike E3, the Entertainment for All Expo is, as the name suggests, open to the public (if you have $100, natch). "We've witnessed a growing demand for a consumer-focused interactive entertainment show these last few years - both from consumers and from the industry," said Mary Dolaher, executive VP of IDG World Expo, in the press release. "'E for All Expo' will offer an unprecedented opportunity for people who share a passion for games to try before they buy - and to interact with the people who created them.
Entertainment for All Expo takes place from October 18-20th in Los Angeles, California at the LA Convention Center, the same place where E3 typically took place. Start counting your pennies!
