ok, i just got my psp today and i thought ugrading / downgrading playing iso would b a snap.. but i guess not!! my fw was originaly 2.0 was upgraded by the shop to 2.5 and eventually they downgraded it to fw 1.5 which seems to be the best version to go as to my research. my memory stick is brand new so i did not put anything on it yet. all i want to do for starters is to 1st d/l an iso game and 2nd to run it on my new psp. i sw somthing from an alex , i believe it was fw 3.03 the new thing posted. i wanted to try that stuff but i was so scared of bricking my psp.. i followed the steps he provided but stopped on part

where do i get these updates?

well to keep things a bit short. all i want to do ryt now is to d/l at least 1 iso game and run it on my psp

OK, you were right to downgrade to 1.50 and try to install 3.03 OE-A.

The 1.50 and 3.03 update files you need are here:
1.50 EBOOT.PBP: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4
3.03 EBOOT.PBP: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/958
You need to extract the files from the archive and rename them to 150.PBP and 303.PBP.

If you want to play ISOs on your psp yodo not need to upgrade from 1.50. Just download Freeloader (google it) and put the 2 fastloader folders in the PSP>GAME folder (put all the other folders oin the root of your psp) then put the ISO you have in the ISO folder on the root of you mem stick. Now when you start up your psp go to game>mermory card then press x on fastloader (it has an evil smiley face icon) and you should be able to run your iso from there.

Fastloader is seriously out of date and has much lower compatibility than 3.03 OE.
If you really don't want to upgrade to 3.03 OE for some reason then DevHook 0.52 is better than Fastloader.

to all those who responded, thanks a bunch.. udating to custom fw 3.03 oe a did the thing! and i m enjoying my brand new psp.. but as a newbie, ill be back for mor questions hahaha
