I am disappointed with it at launch. I think the only good title that launched with the system was Resistance. None of the other games are any good or have already been out the the 360 for months. I also don't like the motion sensing gimmick with the controller. I do a lot of Xbox live and its gonna take Sony a while to be as good. I am also still worried about the Blue-ray vs. HD-DVD war. In the end though, when developers learn the hardware, the PS3 will have better looking games than the 360. I think it just comes down to exclusive games like Metal Gear and God of War. Those type of game sare must buys for most. I like my PS3 but not as much as my 360. I would have to say that I like my Wii better than my PS3 right now.
Judging by the fact that you can't find a wii to save your life, but the PS3's are everywhere, I'd have to agree. wii is fun if you have a bunch of people over.
I think the PS3 is worth it because of the blu-ray. Everything is high when it first comes out. I've heard a rumor that Sony will be releasing a version without the blu-ray, which should drop the price down around the other consoles. Not sure about HD-DVD and blu-ray. Looks like blu-ray is winning now. The HD-DVD is an add-on for the 360 and they're just releasing movies for that. Look back at past consoles, (sega genesis), and see that add-ons never really pan out. I like the fact that you can download demos from the playstation store for free and try them out. And let's face it, if you don't have a HDTV, you're not getting the most out of it. The one disappointment I have is the remote play system is practically worthless. After setting up a special connection for your PS3 on your psp, (the PS3 requires a WPA key...), you find that the PS3 will not stream from the blu-ray player, only from the HDD or memory sticks. And it has to be non-copyrighted content. Just as easy to rip a DVD to your psp and watch it. You can connect to the internet with it, but all in all, your options are limited. There's hope that they will rectify this with a future firmware upgrade, but don't hold your breath. You know Sony. I'm happy with it altogether. Not many good games, but consoles are an investment over time. There's alot of great games out for it this coming year, and I suspect that it will be a hot seller next holiday season. Gran Turismo HD Concept is a thing of beauty. Resistance is fun...as is Motorstorm. As in all things, time will tell. the 360 and PS3 are great systems, no doubt. I'll probably own both before long, what matters is the games. After the first quarter, the PS3 will have more good games out that will make it worth it for other people. I myself have owned a Playstation since their debut in '95, so it was worth it to me to be able to play all my past games I have. And it's run everything I've thrown at it so far. I like the blue tooth controllers and have never had them "disappear" on me. And I've left it running for long periods of time, either downloading or just playing it, and it's never "frozen" on me. It ran practically all day and half the night yesterday. No problems. Got a little warm, but what console doesn't? So, if it's worth it, you have to ask yourself that question. Ask what you would like in a console. It's a sweet system, but I'd have to say hold off til more games are out. To you Guitar Hero fans, Guitar Hero 3 will be released for the PS3 this year. IGN has a large list of games coming out for it this coming year:
