I'm creating this topic because the funny thing is I don't see anyone post their PS3 experience in other forums or anywhere on the internet. I just got my 60gb PS3 version last week. The main reason I bought it because I got tired of upgrading my graphic card(GPU) and other hardwares on my pc to keep up with the latest games. a GPU cost around $600 alone and that is a waste of money. I rather get a PS3. You can do so much with it. It's well worth $600 because it's much cheaper than a blu-ray player($1000). You can watch videos/audios directly from youtube.com after you setup the internet connection on the PS3. Not bad at all for some reason the youtube videos looks a lot sharper on the plasma than on my computer LCD monitor. I currently have mine setup wirelessly. i have watched some blu-ray movies on my 42' plasma hdtv at 1080i using hdmi cable. Let me tell you the quality is crispy and it's a big difference than watching regular dvd movies. smile.gif

For those of you who has a PSP, you can watch movies that are currently playing on the plasma TV by enabling REMOTE PLAY on the PS3. You'll also need firmware version 3.0 on the PSP in order for it to work because the PSP needs the REMOTE PLAY software. You can take your PSP to the bathroom and not have to pause the movie.

The only downfall is that there's not that many games available. Once Grand Tourismo HD, Motor Storm, Metal Gear, Grand Theft Auto, and many other popular games come out on PS3..... I'm pretty sure it will live up to its name. There is plenty of room for the PS3 to grow. I haven't faced any problems with it yet, but I'll keep you guys up to date if I ever run into any. SO far I had played Ridge Racer7 at 1080i. The graphic looks so crispy on my plasma. lol. Ridge racer would have been better if there were some damaged made to the body of the cars after slamming into some cars or walls. Motor Storm will make up for it smile.gif .

Hi all,

I just got a PS3 yesterday afternoon. Seems like they're everywhere now. I was scared to death walking out of Best Buy with it, thought I'd get mugged or shot...lol. I picked up just the console and Ridge Racer cause it was marked down to 50 bucks. I got it home, hooked it up and played for a minute. The graphics looked about the same as the PS2. Mind you, I had not picked up a hi def cable yet. So today I went out and picked up a HDMI cable for it. Boom, the difference is night and day. The graphics were crisp and amazing. I have a 50 inch DLP projection and I am really impressed with the display. My son and I played it for a good couple hours tonight and you know, it didn't seem all that long having the controller hooked up by USB, when I looked down, it indicated it was fully charged. Resistance is definitely on my list. Talledega Nights looked awesome on Blu-Ray once I got the audio figured out....had to go back out to the XMB to adjust the settings. All in all, very impressed with it. I've only played with it for a little while, but it did boot the PS2 games I own. I only tried a few though. Next comes some experiments with my psp. Can't wait to try the location free player. Ok, back to my PS3! Later,

riiiiiidge raaaacer! no seriously.. I havnt been super impressed with anything of the ps3 mind you I dont own one or plan on owning one. Although the past 4 times I went to target (2 different targets) 3 of those times their ps3 was frozen. The time it wasnt frozen I checked it out for a bit and was what I expected.

It was great at first, but it's been collecting dust (litterally) for quite some time now. So, needless to say I'm excited to pick up Motorstorm so I can start putting my $800 to good use again.

Well thats the thing. All the good games are coming out this year, so I dont think we will be disappointed.
