Here are the games Time Magazine has selected to be top 10 of 2006 --
- Wii Sports - Wii
- Gears of War - Xbox 360
- New Super Mario Brothers - DS
- legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Wii
- Resistance: Fall Of Man - PS3
- Pray - PC, Xbox 360
- Table Tennis - Xbox 360
- Guitar Hero 2 - PS2
- Lego Star Wars 2: The original Trilogy - Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, PS2
- Bully - PS2
Notice anything weird?
I did. I saw that every console that is mainstream today made the top list (from Gamecube to PC to PS3), and no PSP. NOTHING. I think this says something about Sony's efforts to build the PSP into a solid gaming system.
Anyone agree?

If I am looking for reviews on video games Time magazine is probably not the first place I would look, since besides this they probably wrote about one other video game article all year long, so I wouldn't worry alot about the article, however I doubt many PSP games would make any top 10 list for any magazine

Interestingly, the DS only has one game in the list, but you're right, it does show something that the PSP has none.

Wii sports is having the same effect that duck hunt did back in the day. It is getting people of all backgrounds to pick up a controller and try something new out and in that regards it has succeeded. So yeah it probably does deserve game of the yr as it appeals to almost everyone and I think that is what they were going for.

I think that you can argue this list both ways. In a way, it is a little bit weird that the PSP hasn't made the list. But when you think about it, the PSP hasn't really had any really breakthrough or outstanding stand-alone games, seeing as most of the PSP's software is ports of other Platform games. So, maybe the list does suck. But Sony does need to develop more original titles for the PSP.
I still havent played that Zelda game yet. Fuckin Nintendo promised it'll be on the GC. Those liars. They expect me to buy a whole new console just for one game. I'll probably end up doing that though. lmao.
