All right .... Using VcdromX and codmaster's "exact audio copy PSP edition" I was able to replace the god awful music in burnout with my own custom sound!!!
Here's how to do it :
1. extract the ISO (in this case burnout)
2. find where the music folder is (in this case -
PSP_GAME\USRDIR\music
3. convert your MP3's or CD' using "exact audio copy PSP edition"
4. replace the music files with your tracks, making sure you keep the original filenames!
5. Rebuild the game using VcdromX
6. Play and enjoy!
I have only tested this with burnout but my theory is that codemasters tool convert music to a universal PSP sound format, so this should work for any game.
Please credit me with the find... Thanks!

I haven't try this yet (cause I'm one of those odd balls that DONT like/HATE Burnout with a passion) but here is the link for the
Tool. However, I will try this with NFS.

How does this differ from the normal "Exact Audio Copy" (EAC) application?
It would appear you need to register on their system before you can d/l the program.

Awesome Stuff, it works for NFSR.
Download the "Exact Audio Copy" (EAC) application"
Take your fave CD and convert them into *.TOC
extract the ISO
find the music folder
take a track you don't like and replace it with your new *.TOC
in my case :
\PSP_GAME\USRDIR\eatrax
renamed
04_Points_Of_Authority.toc
to
14_xzibit_lax.aud
replaced the original 14_xzibit_lax.aud.aud
Rebuild using VcdromX
Fantastic stuff LemonX
now figure out how to edit the song titles so i doesnt say Chingy when CLEARLY I have Linkin Park playing

Tryed this with Burnout, but can get it to work.
Replaced the .mus files in the music folder, and rebuild the image. The game only gets to the first loading screen.
Do I have to rename the files from .toc to .mus ? Could this be the problem ?

yeah u gotta rename files from toc to mus.. and got to overwrite existing mus files. So if there's an EATrax01.mus, u must rename ur toc to EATrax01.mus and overwrite.

Hmm.. That is what I have done, but the game still stops after the first loading sceen. I have to say, that the org. ISO I have works perfectly.
I take that if the game boots, I have build the ISO corretly ?

make sure that you are renaming your extensions
Ex:
some_file_name.toc
to
some_file_name.mus
NOT
some_file_name.toc
to
tosome_file_name.mus.toc
go into your explorer, select tool-folder option->view-> disable "Hide Extensions for known file types"
(tho i dont think any program will associate with .toc or .mus)

I just checked it out. All that EAC-PSP Ed does is create standard ATRAC files with a .TOC extension. Anything that makes these (Goldwave, Nero, the full EAC) should do the same job, plus you can probably choose lower bitrates (132Kbps is complete overkill for AT3, the 66Kbps option is plenty for in-game tunes). Depends if it's using ATRAC3 or ATRAC3-Plus though.

I have solved the problem.. I used vcdrom v.1.41 but that messed up my ISO. So I 'downgraded' to v.1.38 and now it works.
