I'm sort of a noob, back in the day when 1.5 was the newest version I was able to get everything working on my buddies 1.5, but I never got one myself. Now I've gotten one, I've updated from 2.01 to 2.71 then downgraded to 1.5 and finally installed Dark Alex's 2.71 SE-B firmware. So I can get around in the PSP alright, however I'm having problems loading a game (Death Jr.). I've created an ISO using UMD Dumper v0.2 and have renamed it DeathJr.ISO and placed it into the ISO folder. I've tried loading using the DevHook, however I'm not sure the settings I should be using in Devhook, but it goes to a black screen and shuts down. Also I've tried starting it using the icon in the games folder, it looks like its starting up then gives me the error "The game could not be started. (80010002)". Oh yeah and I do have a UMD inserted. Anyone have any ideas?

Try dumping the ISO again or using another UMD dumping program.
When I used New UMD Dumper v0.2 earlier today it looked like it worked on my UMD but it hadn't dumped it properly; when I compressed the ISO to CSO, it was only 25% of the size, it seemed to have skipped a lot of the data.

Thanks for the response, actually I think I figured it out. I had Tron UMD inserted and it wasn't working but when I decided to dump another game (PacManWorld3) and it didn't work with Tron I put in the PacMan UMD and was able to start up DeathJr. So it must be something with the movie disc. Any advise on what could be causing this conflict?

From what you have said, it sounds like you need a game UMD (not a movie UMD) inserted for an ISO to work.
I don't have a movie UMD so I can't confirm this, but it does make some sense.

If you're using 2.71 SE-B3, you can set it to NO-UMD mode using the Recovery Menu (hold R on boot), which should make it work whichever UMD (or none) is inserted.

You need a game UMD because those come up under Game, which is what you need, while UMD movies come up under Video, which woudn't be any help.

even with devhook on the 1.5's i had trouble loading with the movie inserted, mostly because it would say wrong region, but with fast loader it would work i guess because it wasn't using the umd smile.gif

all in all yes
UMD game in drive + UMD movie on table = playable iso
