Well, I'm sticking with 1.50 with harleyg's Custom Firmware Patch v0.2 and DevHook 0.46 with Wedge's DLX Mod v2 (Alpha 23) because:
- it lets you browse your ISOs with descriptions and 3D box-art

I'm not switching to 2.71 SE-B3 because:
- loading ISOs from the Game menu is slow and will clog up the menu as all my homebrew is in there

Maybe I'll switch at 2.71 SE-C or SE-D, but at the moment I'm happy on 1.50.

Well, ironically, you're actually falling behind from everyone else.

And i'm sticking with my 1.5 with the Harleyg's custom firmware and DevHook Mod 1.60.

2.71 SE-B3 is where its at

I am sticking with 1.50 with DevHook 0.46 firmware emulated at 2.71...works bangin so far why switch to se, i see no benefit...

im with 2.71 SE-B3 cause for me its easier to use and to play iso's

i'm using 1.5 w/ 2.71 custom firmware also and i haven't had any trouble w/ it

i am in love with the 2.71_se" it has made me alot less grumpy, plus i cannot wait for the new irshell to come out.

this is really a challenge between which is the "Golden firmware" firmware 2.71 se or 1.5 poc

i personally like 2.71 se-b'' for many reasons but here imma show everything that both feature are good in and also bad...

firmware 1.5 custom firmware POC:
1. you can load 100% of homebrew! and you can also flash more things *THE FLASHING OF MORE THINGS IS WHAT MAKES SE 99% INSTEAD OF 100% BECAUSE SOME SPOOFS WON'T WORK*
2. 1.5 custom prx loading is VERY SIMPLE
3. more variety of custom gameboots
4. dual boot firmware (well not really dual boot but devhook booted at start)
5. auto execute of eboot at boot (se has that feature but it boots the eboot everytime not by X or L command)

firmware 2.71 se:
1. custom wallpapers easier to put
2. internet
3. rss feed
4. iso/cso under xmb game (NOTE THAT IT DOESN'T TAKE A LONGER TIME TO LOAD THE GAME FEATURE UNDER THE XMB ONLY THE FIRST TIME THE ISO/CSO IS PRESENT SINCE A ISOCACHE.BIN FILE IS MADE ON THE MEMORY STICK!)
5. being able to run all umd's that require firmware 2.71 and lower *SOME 2.8+ UMD'S ARE SUPPORTED SINCE IN THE LATEST SE FIRMWARE THE PARAM.SFO CHECK IS GONE!*
6. 100% non-kernel apps are supported and 99% kernel apps are supported because some firmware spoofs dont' work (like the firmware number can't be changed)

im sure there are more things they can both do but i was just trying to focus on the things each firmware can't do!

Of course I knew you could play ISOs from the XMB, what I didn't know before is that it caches the list so that it loads quickly after the first time:

Now if only there was a separate menu for "Game" and "ISO", 2.71 SE would be perfect.

I like the new SE v2.71, likes great but still dunno how to play original UMD games, pls guide..

Yea, same here. The ability to play PS1 games off of warez sites on the 3.02 OE was finally the last straw that made me want to update. I only had it for 2 days, and I love it, and I already put all of the custom stuff I had on it before (gameboot, bootsound, and font) thanks to the latest X-Flash.

I also upgraded to 3.02 OE-A ANd I'm loving it

I finally upgraded to 3.02 OE to try out the PS1 emulator as well.
It's much better than I thought it was; it really does make a difference not having to reboot into 1.50 for firmware or DevHook for ISOs.

Over 1.50 with DevHook and custom firmware, 3.02 OE-B has:
- support for homebrew and game loading in the same firmware (no need to load DevHook / reboot to 1.50)
- support for PS1 emulation
- protection against accidental upgrade

I really like 2.71 SE-C over 1.5 because I can load ISOs/CSOs right from the game menu, I dont need some third party web browser, and the most important thing to me is the recovery mode, I semi-bricked (no XMB) my psp shortly after loading SE-C to it and was able to fix it. Though I have just upgraded to 3.02 OE-B.[font=Arial][font=Arial][font=Arial]

no comments... coz i'm already a 3.02 user... life sucks...
