I got a Jap PSP back in march and I PSP is finally launchin in New Zealand tomorrow

I would like to mention that Zone 4 UMD movies work on the JAP PSP.

Interesting. Anyone tried US UMDs in a JAP PSP?

I wonder if the reverse is true. Suggests that all the Zone-4 PSPs are in fact Zone-2s for UMD playback. Would save them a bundle on production.

O yeah forgot to mention

I tried a copy of Charlies Angels US and that worked :-D

So _are_ the movies actually region coded, or does the Jap firmware just ignore it!?

I dont know anyone with a US PSP so not sure but I cant say I have had a prob with Zone 4 and Zone 1 on my Jap PSP which should only run Zone 2 HAHA

Bugger. I sold my Zone1 copy of Hellboy as well cos I didn't expect it to work. Nuisance

i have a jap psp and i just got sin city from the us 2day and it didnt work it sed ''this disc cannot be started. the region code is not correct''
is there anythinkl i can do 2 make it work?

try booting the umd by fastloader?

Fastloader works differently i think. Ill go see if theres any movies i want from some places in NZ and buy one, if it doesnt work ill just sell it, lol.

+ i got to educate the guy who i was talking to at Noel Leeming about 1.5 and 2.0 and stuff, lol. He was talkin' bout some guy who came in and was rambing on about 1.5 and stuff and he just made himself sound "uber 1337z0rz", lol.

Presumably some producers just can't be bothered with zoning UMDs. Maybe we need to compile a list of which ones are unzoned. (Movie title, serial # or something). Probably only useful to us Zone4 peeps, but, hey!

That's cool, now some people won't feel so bad that they can't buy movies and play on their imported PSPs.

I can also confirm that Hitch, Steamboy, SWAT runs on PSP Singapore version! Running Firmware V 2.0

Underworld (EU UMD Video) doesn't work wirth JAP PSP 1.50

(also not with the help of WabVersion Changer 2.5 ...)

my jap psp plays all regionsthat i have tried 1,2 and 4 so far.
my aussie 1 has only been test with region 1 and 4. and that works.

Hi My first post.
UK based. Have Jap PSP with 1.5 and .7 Fastloader.
Plays Spider man new animated series UMD bought in America whilst on hols. Cool
Then bought US Steam Boy but no joy >:-(
Says region not correct.
Tried Wab 2.5 still does not work.
I think the presumption about region coding by stevenz is correct, based on my expeience
Is there any other way to make PSP Region free.

I have a EUR PSP downgraded to 1.5 and have found that the demo disk movie does not work and Iron Maiden Rock in Rio does not playback (both EUR), but Spiderman 2 works ok ( finally received it from $ony) tried the WAB version cahnger but no joy... hope this gets fixed soon.
