I cant run homebrews and tried everything!! I cant downgrade since I have TA-082. I have 2.6 but can upgrade to 2.71 if need be, preferably want to use 2.71. I tried Devhook and nothing and I tried hen_c.rar

What to do?

i run homebrew perfectly...

where in devhook it says "FIRMWARE" you gotta pic 1.5 buddy.. and put all your homebrews in ur GAME folder

Can u give me links to the Devhook and HENC u use?? There are 2 Devhhok progs. One says its corrupteed and the others starts and shows the PSP screen when u start gamez, then it says "The Game cannot be started" then it says somekind of #: 800... [Cant rememeber!]

Can u give me intructions, when I used HENC it rebotted at worked but at the white screen it just stayed there and after a while shut down....

Search for HENC at this forum it isnt that hard. i got miens from ehre and im too lazy to look for it.

Steps are...

1) Put all files from HENC *only* onto your PSP... then reboot your PSP (remember to take out the game)
2) Go to PHOTO then press the right arrow on HENC... it should go to a blue screen (for first time use it should go green screen) and auto-reboot.
3) then download DEVHOOK for 2.71 and put it on your psp then just run it off your memory stick

The necessary condition to return to normal firmware.

1. Devhook v0.46.0000 or later version
2. "reboot.bin" of FW1.50 which was put on "ms0:/dh/reboot.bin"

It is made with 1.50 updater by devhook firmware installer.
Copy "ms0:/dh/150/reboot.bin" to "ms0:/dh/kd/reboot.bin" yourself after FW install

Okay, I downloaded and it has the new Dev! But it hangs when I reboot to XMB 1.5... Wat's XMB?? Alsom watys the dif between 2.71 and 2.71 flash??

XMB is the main PSP menu, the one with "Settings", "Music", "Game", etc..
You won't be able to "Reboot to 1.5 XMB" because you have a TA-082.
The difference between 2.71 and 2.71F is that 2.71 loads the firmware from the memory card and 2.71F from the flash memory.

2.71 is off memory stick duo?? And 2.71 is from flash memory?? Flash memis the built in memory in the PSP, right?? Where yur wallpaper, etc is saved and settings, and if u removce the battery all those settings get erased. Speaking of that, if u activate WMA and remove yur battery do u have to activate it again, also when I upgraded I didn;t have to reactivate, ps I did upgrade, so where it says I have 2.6 is wrong, I now have 2.71 but cant run most homebrews, which is why I made this thread. g4m30v3r says he can run homebrews perfectly [see above...]

If you've upgraded to 2.71 you will be able to run homebrew using Dark_AleX's Homebrew Enabler (Revision C) for 2.71, which is often abbreviated to "HENC".

Download HENC using the link g4m30v3r posted (replace "hxxp" with "http" obviously), then follow the instructions in the Readme for installing it.

Test that it's working by running one of the demo homebrews that comes with HENC, such as the "Cube" example.

Can you clarify that you can get this "Cube" example to run?
If you are at that stage then setting up DevHook should be easy, I think this is a full package you can use:

SO it has reboot, I'll try it I have my PSP here but I cant download at the current time :-(, the tech guy @ my school h8s me, he blocked downloading just cuz I did, for no reason...

I tired and I can get into 1.5 and 2.71!! In 2.71 the WMA and FLash Player are preactivated which is cool.

I still cant run my GBA EMu thugh...

In 1.5 it says "THe Game Cannot be started (800xxx25)", the cube sample doesn't even work!! The only app I can start is the OLD Devhook, not even the new one works!



Wats also wierd is the "X" and "O" buttons are swapped, when I run FW from flash "X" is like enter, and "O" is cancel, when I run FW off MS via DEV, "X" is cancel and "O" is enter.



PS: In my subsciptions I ontcec the "Envolope" icons was flaimg and I moved the curor over the pic and it said Hot Topis, why is that so?? I notice this has lots of reples and even more views!! Is dat why??....

The cube sample doesn't work because they're different eboots, and only work with the 2.71 homebrew enablers.

I have an older Dev from before but it didnt work, but now it does since the last file you gave had reboot, but when I reboot to 1.5 it just goes nack into 2.71, but when I run it from 1.5 it works differently. Anyways In 1.5 no programs run not even cube sample and the "New" devhook, only that old one. I am positiive I was in 1.5 when it said that!

Have you set up DevHook for 2.71 using the link I gave you earlier?
I have no idea what you are talking about when you say "had reboot", you can't reboot into 1.50 because you have 2.71. The only thing you could do is reboot into 2.71, or possibly emulate 1.50 using DevHook.

About "new" and "old" DevHook, only use DevHook 0.46; delete all the other ones you have.

The "README.TXT" in that archive also has the simplest instructions possible.
If you want to run DevHook, then it might be easier to format your memory stick, and then follow the instructions in the "README.TXT".
That's a bit of a last resort but it would do the job I think.

i tried loading everything with the link and succeeded loading devhook once. however after i exited from it, i haven't been able to load devhook again. it simply states 'The game could not be started. (80020148)' everytime i tries loading devhook. help would be appreciated thx..

The 80020148 thing happens to me too!!!!!! I can run 1.5 but my homebrews dont work!!! I have the old version since I can use it from within 1.5. Anyways. using the old version in 1.5 and trying to reboot to 1.5 just takes me back into 2.71, it useless in 2.71 but in 1.5 I have needs for it. But anyways, I can now get into 1.5 which is the farthest anyone has helped me (thanks), but I still cant run homebews...

the problem is solved now. i didn't know that HEN C is needed to be loaded on every reboot hence the error occured. i would recommend you to delete everything and load just the 2.71 version seeing how you confused yourself with the 1.5. took me a few hours to figure everything out and set it up and now i'm already running homebrew for 2.71

I use HENC everytime I start up and run Dev, but from within Dev I get the 800xxxx thing!! When I run my GBA emulator within 1.5 it says that!! I try to run 271 from the MS and run HEN in their but it ALWAYS freezes!! NOt once have I got through, but I doubbt that running HEN C within Dev would do any good....

Running HENC within DevHook is pointless, it only works in 2.71 and you might as well exit DevHook and run HENC on the flashed 2.71.
To play GBA games, look for a GBA emulator that has been ported to 2.71 with HENC, and run it via HENC (instead of via emulated 1.50).

1) Reset your PSP!

2) Go to your XMB and go to the PHOTOs and run the HENC folder

3) (It should auto-reboot.) Then go to the GAME/Memory Stick folder in the XMB!

4) RUN "DEVHOOK.4x FOR 2.71"!!

5) CHOOSE the following SETTINGS
a. FIRMWARE: 1.50
b. CPU CLOCK: 22Mhz/111Mhz
c. BOOT SELECT: REBOOT XMB
"go to other menu"
d. UMD SFO VERSION: 2.xx to 2.00
e. REMOTE CTRL: "could skip this one"
f. PRELOAD ADDRESS: 0x88E00000

6) It should take a while or not to load. AND you will get an error message and thats okay.

7) Run the Homebrew off your MS and your done!

OK, launching 1.50 isn't to play games, it's to run homebrew software (such as GBA/NES emulators).
Try running your GBA emulating once you've launched 1.50 using DevHook.

If you want to play PSP games (UMD ISOs), iou need to launch DevHook with the firmware set to 2.71.
In the the settings when you load DevHook you need to change:
FIRMWARE: 2.71
BOOT SELECT: reboot XMB
UMD SELECT: Select the ISO you want to play (it needs to be in the "ISO" folder"
UMD MOUNT: ISO ANYUMD
In "OTHER" menu:
UMD SFO VERSION: 2.xx ->2.00

There's two slightly different methods for playing homebrew and ISOs.
Which one are you trying to do?
I think that's where the confusion is.

Thanks for the pateince, I can run ISOs but not homebrews like emus off my memory stick, in dev i select and ISO and ir works, in 1.5 i run game-- Memory Stick-- GPSP and it doesnt work!

Just recently I got my first ISO and it worked, but for my homebrew GBA emu it doesn't!

Id upload it but I dont have permission, can I have permission to upload my emulator so you can check if its corrupt...

OK, so the 2.71 emulation is working fine with ISOs, that's good.

About the GBA emulator, it would be easier if you posted the link to where you downloaded it from, then I'll check it out on my 1.50.
Keep in mind that that wouldn't be a great test because you're using emulated 1.50, and I'm using flashed 1.50, but I'll do it anyway.

Thank you, I now udnerstand thre are two types of hombews:

1 Just run HenC in 2.71 [Ex Nester J and Devhook itself]
2 Run 1.5 using Devhook which needs HenC, so you need both

Also when there are two folders, ex GBsp and GBsp%, keep both!! Somewhere I read that only one is needed, but even if you have an extra game that shows up as corrupted data, keep it!!

Also some folders go like___SCE... so they dont shows up in the XMB.
