I don't think that there is another way at the moment.
Surely you can just rent GTA: LCS, you only need it once for the downgrade.

There is a downgrader for 2.5-2.6 available at www.noobz.eu
Which needs GTA 
just upgrade to 2.71 an use the 2.71 downgrader worked for me

At the moment you can't downgrade 2.80/2.81, sorry.

there is a way definitely, my bro done it, hes doing it for me now and we dont have any GTA and dont know any1 that has either, ill find out for you and get back dude
actuall theres a thread on one of the forums here on how to do it, search around if i find it before you ill post it here for you, but it entails upgrading to 2.8 then downgrading to 1.5 and upgrading again if you so wish, but my bro downgraded straight from 2.6 on his, google is your best friend now dude

the only downgraded ive seen other than GTA is at www.noobz.com.......sorry dude!!!!! ive never used the GTA for shyt!!!! dont downgrade...id say the best FW is 3.03OE-C
upgrade to 2.71, then downgrade using 2.71 easy downdater to 1.5.....that what I did and now I have a 3.03oe-c
