| This could have been a great game if the various faults didn't bring down the experience so much. Miami Vice: The Game is a third person shooting game and is based on the upcoming movie. Playing as one of two undercover cops, it's up to you to bust the drug lords by taking out their goons and securing stashes of weed, meth and cocaine. There's not much to the story and it certainly doesn't become any more interesting as you play, but the action is stellar nonetheless. The controls are a straight clone of Resident Evil 4 and each weapon has a laser instead of a cross hair (even the shotgun) and it works fairly well. The AI is stupid to say the least. Not much stealth can be used in this game as they seem to spot you from a mile away. The enemy will then proceed by taking a few shots, running for cover and coming back to the exact same spot and again the cycle continues. To mix things up there are a couple of mini games as well as some boat levels. The mini games allow you to earn weapon upgrades or sell the drugs you seize on a level for weapon and armour upgrades. Unfortunately the game is much too easy and short. Most will complete the game in around six hours and not die in a single level. To make things even easier, you can buy information from an informant for a pittance, which shows you the location of all your objectives. The graphics and sound (though some voice lines become repetitive) as well as the controls and atmosphere in the game provide a short but fun shooting experience. ![]() ![]() |
