ok soo I was just googling around the internet for downgrading 2.71 psp and found this website with a 2.6 eboot file and I thougth to myself maybe I can change it soo the psp would think it is higher firmware version soo I downloaded an hex editor and opened the 2.6 eboot file.there I found stuff like firmware 2.6,those 6's I changed to 8's soo I did that all over the file and saved them, went usb mode made the UPDATE folder in PSP/GAME placed the eboot, disconected psp went to game, memory stick, and it said PSP UPDATE 2.80.I literally shit myself cause I thougth it worked, selected it and the psp white screen appear here is a video on what I did video

and here is the modified eboot filed I used(is ok to try I've tried it 3 times on my 2.7 psp)

I can't believe you were stupid enough to actually start that update. you must want a $250 brick. if firmware hacking was that simple everyone would do it...

yeah me and h3r3t1c already did that and the same thing happened.

he cannot brick it because it does not even touch the firmware.

when you edit the file you destroy the signature from sony, it will not run
you need to get the encryption keys from them to digitally sign the eboot smile.gif LOL
