okay we are SOOO close to getting homebrews to work on the PSP version 2.71 and maybe even a downgrader even sooner, but how would i go about fixing a "the game could not be started (80020148)" error??

the farthest we have gotten was it shows the "white psp loading screen" then it says the error as stated above. any suggestions??

reallistically the downgrader will probably come before the homebrew game

I really hope so. Ever since the 2.5/2.6 downgrader came out, I've been kicking myself in the ass for updating to a 2.71.

I Know I Thought There Was No Hope For Downgrader Once I Got To 2.6 So I Went To 2.7

i cant wait for the downgrader to work , same as alot of you i've ben so damn mad for updating so quickly

i've ben feeling alot of regret for buying the psp ever since i have bought it , not because its a bad handheld , but because games cost $150 each here

i have tested it and it works to the point where it loads and tells you the FW verson you are upgrading to and statr is flashing then it says update is corrupt but i have found a new method that bypasses that and will let it load!!

omg me too..i thought 2.6 would never be downgraded...so i updated to 2.71 and now i log onto the site, and b00m 2.6/2.5 DOWNGRADER im like wtF!! ur kidding me! i was pissssed lol

Yep, mine's came wit 2.01, and i didnt really have interest in the gta homebrew loader, so i went straight to 2.71.

*bump* okay here is what i did. i changed the file number of the eboot file from UCUS98662 to UCUS12345 (just to make things easier) and now it says the data is restricted and i need to enter my password...does this mean anything??

maybe parental control? if you havent changed it the default is 0000 and please upload the eboot you are trying

yeah i accidentally changed the parental controls from 0 to 11 (i dont know how) but it DID boot, but itstill didnt work, progress is wtill ongoing. h3r3t1c says he got to load the DOOM homebrew further, but t still says it corrupted...he said he would uplload it soon...i would like to see this...

the standard homebrew files have .ELF as header while locoroco has ~PSP as header o.o

people that are tinkering with this should go into our archives and view the messages that other people got when trying to exploit/downgrade all the other firmware versions.

I hate to burst your bubble but you aren't doing anything new, and you certainly aren't close to a working exploit. Getting the psp boot screen is easy, running a game isn't. What's left to be found in 2.71 that hasn't been patched up by sony will be found by actual programmers, a buffer overflow or something. It won't be as simple as editing the data in a few files. the KXploit people got lucky with that hack and it was the first thing sony locked down.

stay optomistic, keep trying, but you shouldn't get peoples hopes up until you find something that actually works.
