it is for demos and for future use

The purpose is for demo's, however, it has other uses such as the PS1 emulator and other things... Sony would not create a folder for us to use home brew that leads to piracy= lack of games and money from/for developers=bad product! (handheld dream cast springs to mind).

lol but because of the game folder and the game feature on the xmb made me actually look for what its for on the internet and what i found was welcome johny 5 to the psp homebrew world july 2005 biggrin.gif ....
and who knows if they wouldn't of had that game folder and game feature in the xmb there wouldv'e been one less person who had homebrew (and maybe lots more)

well from the offset back in 2005 when i received my brand new Sony... i knew/was informed about home brew and luckily my psp came with 20 games a snes emulator a loader and some other stuff to help me on the road to 'free game-don'. Well, obcourse after i brought it from the shop, i gave it to some i knew (as at the time i never had a clue about the Sony playstation portable-just thought I'd give it a go as i have with many of the current/'old gen' consoles-at from the word go i was impressed and even more so when i had free games. Plus, whats more i met this site! I still buy some games on average 5 a year for my psp,-then just make my money back and sell them on to some noob that has a 1.5 or 2.0 or even 2.6/2.5 psp that has no clue!-easy money lol.

he has a good point but i thinks its for demos for 2.71+
because that is where you have to put them

Yea, that and for updates (which I will not use ever again, unless it's necessary to downgrade).
