Details from issue 56 of the HideChan! radio show have revealed new information on the previously rumoured PSP title in the Metal Gear Solid series. Confirming that the game will be a squad-based action title of sorts, ditching the format's foray with the Metal Gear Acid format, the PSP title will be set during the 1970's, between the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and the original Metal Gear.

Initial reports suggest players will assume the role of Big Boss, though it's not yet known exactly how the gameplay is shaping up. The report suggests a similar level of visual quality to Metal Gear Solid titles on the Playstation2, albeit with a reduced polygon count; Wi-Fi multiplayer has also been rumoured.
