Well i have one and its completely fine. Mine was one of the second wave madels with the newer dvd-rom inside it (samsung) which features quieter operation.

Well, i happened to win mine. And 4-5 months after, it started acting up. It would start up and show 3 flashing red lights around the power button (excluding the light on the top left). Well it turns out I had to pay $75 canadian since it was out of its 3 month warrenty. I hated that. It took an eternity to get the refurbished console they promised. If yours breaks down like mine and your out of warrenty, you can easily haggle them down to 50% off, but its still damn expensive.

Ive had mine for a while now and i havent had any problems

Mine is First wave, never gave me any problems until now, it recently has been saying "Unplayable disc" but all I have to do is turn it off for five and sometimes change the 360 from horizontal to vertical and vice versa. My sister's bf's first wave system burned a big ass ring in my Call of Duty 2 game.
