As I've mentioned in the news of the 0.06 build, Artillery has been changed to a C++ shell. What does this mean you might wonder, it enables me to work in a more pleasurable way, and structuring the shell has become a lot easier as C++ supports advanced ways of structuring the internals of the shell.
I've started 'porting' the C code to C++, fixing bugs as I go. This not only makes the current shell more stable, it allows me to work in a more orderly fashion and this will speed up future development. The status of this conversion is coming along nicely. Things that have been done:
* Core
* Graphics library
* Taskbar module
* Desktop module
* Controller manager
* Icon manager
* Window manager
* Font manager
* UMD Loading (+ return to shell)
* Debugging console
The basic functionality has been rewritten in C++. But things like the mp3 player, picture viewer and homebrew loading are still waiting to be done. The first 0.x release, the 0.1 release in this case will be the first build to be public with the rewritten code.
