March 06 PSM describes an upcoming PSP firmware update that will include an e-mail client. Sony Mail will let users setup a PSP e-mail account using the PSP's unique system ID instead of wrestling with server setup.
A GPS addon is on the way later in 2006 and will be accompanied by the release of map UMD's. I wonder if games will use the GPS peripheral?

How would the GPS work? Would you have to connect to a hotspot cuz that would sort of be dumb... But if you don't I'm all for it. And an email add on would be sweet... once they make a keyboard accessory i like (even though I'm perfectly good at the regular typing process)

Mmmmm gps, anyone ever done any geocaching? fun stuff. if not go to www.geocaching.com and check it out. once this comes out I'm gonna make a psp related geocache, with maybe some umd protectors in it and a wipe cloth, maybe even a battery

I think this is fantastic and sony are really showing the upmost dedication to their handheld making its users still feel like they made the right choice when they bought the psp.
