Will the ps3 have an online service like xbox live???????????

I havnt seen any particular mention of one, i suspect it will be much like the PS2 online capabilities, just game-side. y'never know. stupid xbox live costs tho . If they're gunna bring out an online service like xbox live, its going to have to be cheaper/free

i think the ps3 will have an online service sort of like the new live where it will have 2 tiers one is free and one is not.
free = free downloadable content, etc. but u can't play online
pay = the whole meal deal

its communication,content,something i think the 4 C's that they mentioned at E3.its gonna be better than live.byt with similar concept

Hmm... yeah so who exactally won the last console war, i mean, i think it was kinda on the Sony side but close. Not sure, didnt really pay much attention, only got into consoles quite late, last year or the year before or so, lol.

IMO xbox won with live service and sony won with the third party support

with over 90million ps2's shipped worldwide(compared to the 20million of xbox) sony has definately won the console wars from a sales point of view.

Services XBL is great, but the best xbox games can be played for free over kai or XBC so meh, online is online right? the ps2s online was okay as well, just didn't have a friendslist, oh well.

Homebrew Xbox won that hands down, there is no bigger homebrew scene, than the xbox. the psp is getting there though

I recall a short while back that the creator of the PS was talking about what huge plans were in store for the online side of the PS3 so I do not know if the online part of the PS3 will be like live but do not be shocked it actually turns out better, all in due time I guess.

in my opinion i think the ps3 will have a great online service(if it means paying,it means paying)theres no ecaping the fact that xbox 360 will have a superb online service but to tell the truth ill probably get both, oh and if u think im rich ill giv it a good 6months b4 i get that "extra" console

there r two live-accounts,

the xbox360 SILVER account, wich is "free" with purchase of xbox360, i believe u can play on weekdays for free(no extra costs)

and the xbox360 GOLD account wich is 4 weekends aswell,this is a subscription based plan,

Please do not quote me on this but I beleave the latest word is that the silver account status has been changed to being FREE during promotional things...however I am not sure but I could of swore I just read this some where will search for link.

I really doubt sony will launch a unified online service they will no likely rely on game side online services like they did with the psp.

Actually, I believe that it is impossible for them not too. There is too much at stake for them not to have a LIVE type service. It comes with the times.
