Well for normal firmware, definitely 1.5

For OE firmware, the best I have to say would be 3.03OE-C

Well it really depends on what you want from a firmware, but for ISO's and stuff definitelt 3.03OE-C

If you wish to downgrade in the near-future the 3.03 oe-c is for you. Otherwise 3.40 OE A rocks smile.gif

Yeah, 1.5 for normal firmware. 3.03oe-c for custom firmware. And the 3.03 version is the highest you can downgrade. So if anyone is reading this, NO PSP OVER 3.03 CAN BE DOWNGRADED LOL!

Basically, as previously stated, 1.5 is the best choice if you dont want to opt for custom firmware. 1.5 has great homebrew compatibility and coupled with DEvhook is a very good way to emulate higher firmwares and load ISO and CSO games. More over, with DEvhook installed you get the benefits of a higher firmware version.
Custom firmware: This is probably they most used firmware version in the PSP community. Most users opt for custom firmware when it comes down to the pick between it and 1.5. This is due to the fact ISO/CSO loading is done through the game icon, you have all the features when your PSP turn on; there is no need to use Dev hook to get to your beloved Internet browser. Then, you have outstanding homebrew compatibility and the recovery menu. I use 3.03 OE- to me that is the best firmware ever.

The best firmware: 3.03oe-c, 1.50, Any other firmwares because i have try the 3.40oe-a and the compressed psx games does work on it so 3.03oe-c is the best that i have try.
