At one point I thought the support for UMD's was diminishing. But then I saw that silver platter had a few new titles out. Whats the deal? are UMD's here to actually stay? (In smaller quantities of course.)

The UMD's are a dieing breed. Most major retailer have dropped them. They will still produce them, but in very limited quanities.
