Head down to your local Circuit City where they sell PELICAN HEADBANGER EARSUBS FOR PSP for 19.99. These earbuds are the same size as sony remote+earphones including the BUILT IN SUB WOOFER. These earbuds play music so loud you NEED the AVLS on to protect your own ears. The only downside is that there is no remote.

Pelican has yet to impress me with anything they have for the PSP, especially their screen protector
"BUILT IN SUB WOOFER"? If there is only one, then can you only hear it in the left or the right side? lol
I use the Sennheiser MX500 earbuds. They are a huge improvement over crappy Sony PSP ones. They are cheaper than the Pelican ones ($15). The cord is a good length and has volume control on it. Make sure to use the "socks" it comes with to enhance bass response even more.

I'm fine with my PSP headphones, I can't be bothered and I think it's a waste to buy awesome headphones for like 19.99

headphones always tangle and break for me, so i always use what i can find, volumes not to bad, but there are some good mods out there that will void your waranty, buttttt will make your psp louder ( with out headphones ) you can open your system by taking the face plate off, and on the speaker holes, remove the plastic dust covers on them, and cut some headphone ear fabric, and superglue it over where the plastic was, the plastic keeps a lot of the sound in the psp...

I read about that technique too, about opening up your PSP and removing the spongy things that are blocking the speaker holes.
Apparently the person who actually did this had his volume only up to about halfway, and he had complaints that his PSP was too loud... go figure, I can barely hear my PSP with those things blocking the speaker holes.

omg for real. my headphones make it supoer load but without head phones its quiet, even all the way up. how u get it louder? they need a sound system for the psp thats not as bulky as the pone at walmart made by madkatz or watev the company is called.

I was reading somewhere to try the Ipod AMP and that it works well on the PSP for music and UMDs.

Headphones are plenty loud, speakers are too quite. The dustcover trick makes a pretty big difference in your volume. I picked up a Logitech Playgear Amp. It's like $20 bucks and is mucho loud with pretty good quality, they are portable with a sweet case and battery or ac power and they have a built in cradle for your PSP for just listening to music or watching a flick. Jeesh, i sound like a commercial. Check it out

would there be a way to remove the dust covererers... (sorry, shorthand)without voiding the warranty? Mabey sticking some needle nose pliers in the speaker hole and just ripping it out?
Just tryin to feel important *sniffle*

Sony PSP Headphones or Apple iPod headphones work great for the PSP
The PSP Headphones are great in Games, because in games like SOCOM, you can hear all kinds of other stuff than you would with normal headphones or just the speakers.

i used the Sony earphones (usually color grey with some black in it) or use the normal psp earphones works very well but the SONY earphones is like twice as much as the full volume of the psp/.
