Hi all,

I need a favour and a bit of advice.
I was having a look at using the Firmware Loader last night as I have a 1.5 game and a 2.0 game. I got an ISO of the 1.5 game to see if I could get UMD-Emulator to work.

My PSP is a 2.0.

I downgraded fine got myself to 1.5 firmware got UMD Emulator working and the iso, fantastic.

Then thought I would try to get firmware loader on and see if I could get my 2.0 game to work.

I was following the instructions fine. Got to the point where I used PSP Firmware Processor to copy the out/outx files and then I got stuck.

I read the instructions over and over, had a look at the readme in the Firmware processor where it mentioned moving the BIOS1 file next to the Flash0 and couldn't find a BIOS1 on the stick or anywhere.

So I need some help. After using the firmware processor to sort out all the files what do I do? I am guessing that the author of the instructions does not have English as his 1st language (not a criticism, just a point) and I am stuck.

I am guessing that I am probably just missing a really simple point. I work in IT but this side of things is new to me.

Is there anyone nice enough to tell me how to complete this and then I can play both games! Wohoo!

Many thanks in advance

Paul

P.S - Is there anyway that you can have 2.0 on your PSP and launch 1.5 from firmware loader. Or will it only work the other way round?

Additional.

I have found a topic on the forum that mentions SXT Version Changer v2.02 I am going to try that to play my 2.0 ISO and then should still be able to keep 1.5! My 2.0 game is burnout. Anyone know if this works with SXT?

The Firmware Launcher, at this point, is unable to launch games while in it. For most games you can use the SXT Version Changer v2.02 that makes your psp think its a higher version than it really is w/o updating it. The version changer does not work for: GTA, Socom, King Kong, Smackdwon vs. Raw, The Sims 2, and Crash Team Racing. You can play some other 2.0 only games (The Hustle, Tokobot) by messing with the file but you can't save.

Ceptic,

Thanks for your reply. You always have the answers and are willing to share and that's a rare trait to have these days!

Had another issue since my PC had been taken away to be fixed (is on a return to base warranty so wouldn't let me fix it!) so I spent yesterday trying to enable my USB ports at work...took a fair bit of reg hacking but managed to do it...version changer on about to test...

It's a good job I have administrator access at work or else I'd have been stuck for a week!

Thanks again Ceptic!
