UPDATE: This story was originally entitled: “Activision Says ‘Call of Duty’ PS3 Beta Details ‘Coming Soon’.” But Activision has informed us that their statement may have been premature. All details about any betas for “Call of Duty,” including an answer to whether there will be a PS3 beta or not, will be released at a later date.

If you took today’s news at its word, PlayStation 3 owners were being left out of the “Call of Duty: World at War” multiplayer beta.

Xbox 360 and PC players are allowed access in October. Last year, only Xbox 360 gamers were allowed access to the “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” multiplayer beta.

But Sony fans need not panic just yet. MTV Multiplayer asked Activision whether PS3 “Call of Duty” fans were being left in the cold, and were told to be a little more patient.

“We will have more information on that coming soon,” said a company representative.

While not a definitive answer just yet, it does provide some hope for non-Xbox 360, non-PC shooter fans in search of new perks.

Cod5 will never be better than cod4

Hope it comes out soon.

The thing that made CoD4 better than all the other ones were because it was MODERN warfare, but now that they are bringing world at war back to WWII i doubt it will be able to top CoD4

im gonna stick to cod4 unless everyone says that world at war is better...ak47+m4>garand+karabiner.. or w/e guns they are going to have

Idk what they're thinking on going back to WWII theres WAAAAAYYY too many WWII games out there already....we can do without another. Like Dr3amKilla said the reason COD4 was such a hit is because there aren't alot of modern FPS's. Theyre all....WWII....I mean come on now. This better be real good or I think its gunna flunk. Lots of people are going to buy it, but most people wont play it. Thats my opinion anyway. And the whole no ps3 online beta......there goes their chances even more...

Call of duty is usually better for ww2 style of story.

I dont know think CoD5 would be better than 4 either
