It is true that some of the newest games can not be played on 1.5. Such as: GTA, Socom, Tokobot, The Hustle, King Kong, and some others. You can run apps, hacks, and SNES, NES, Neo Geo CD, and other emulators that play thousands of old style games. I think, and so does a lot of people (except playstation.com boards <vomit>) that 1.5 is better than 2.0, 2.1, 2.5, and 2.6

yep, it's just coded difrently. for the same reacon you cant play AVC files. some of the suport they added for differnt things is only in firmwares >1.5
but come on, homebrew VS. gta, thats's a no-brainer, homebrew wins!

GTA can't be played, because for GTA you get a video telling you what to do for your mission. Well those videos are in AVC, the higher firmware laugher for 1.5 to launch firmwares 2.0, 2.5, 2.6 doesn't work because you can't start a umd game while in the program and it crashes every five minutes. You might technicly be able to play GTA but you couldn't see any videos because 1.5 only plays MP4.
Once they get UMD games to launch while in the MPH firmware launcher we will be able to play all games that need all versions. Once that is possible a new door will be opened and people will be able to play any game they want. Then they can start on a custom firmware.

I am not sure, but I wouldn't like playing without the videos before the mission. I think that is the only thing...

Yeah those videos between the mission make a good storyline. I just wish someone could make GTA play for 1.5.

Soon you wll be able to. A person (GameShark) is working on a 1.5 cutomizable firmware, he says in the next update you will be able to launch umds inclusing GTA!
