Have installed umd emulator 8 on my 1.5 PSP, DO I NEED A UMD IN THE DRIVE WHEN TRYING TO RUN AN ISO? cos its not working whithout 1!!!

Im thinking i probably do? if so can anyone plese let me know a good game i can play on firmware 1.5 as i dont wanna upgrade to 2.0 and then back down to 1.5 again, so i could do with buying a game that will just play on my 1.5.

Homebrew will not run on PSPs with 1.51, 1.52 or 2.01+ firmware versions. Either downgrade or don't. It's you decision.

In my opinion a good game is Tony Halk Undergraound 2 remix. I got this game on launch date and it has been my favorite game. Some other good ones are Wipeout Pure and Ridge Racer.

Ps3consolemods: you must have done something wrong. It does work without a umd in the drive on a 1.5 psp. Try Fastloader instead because it needs umd but you can also rip games with it aswell. I can't help you really anymore because I don't know about or use umd emulator. If you try Fastloader and it still won't work you must have either have a bad ISO file or you didn't put the folders in the psp properly.

Can anyone who uses umd emu just clarify that you dont need a UMD in the drive to run ISO'S, as i am unable to get it to work without 1, it either freezes on the iso when u launch it or resets the PSP as it says it should but still it wont launch the game!!

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought it said you had the 1.51 firmware installed. My eyes are playing tricks on me. >.<

Anyway, for Fastloader and UMD Emulator you will need a UMD disc in the drive.

Thanks, that will be the problem then, can anyone recommend a good game that doesnt require the 2.00 firmware? so i can play it on my 1.5 with out upgrading to 2.0 as i dont really wanna upgrade n downgrade again just to play a game.

You don't own ANY umd?! You don't even have the sampler disc either? Well I suggest SSX or Burnout. Both are great.

That doesn't work on new games like GTA because they are encrypted differently and the movies are in avc format.

Hey, I don't need any crap when I happen to make a simple honest mistake about ONE thing within one program. I'm a mod because overall I know a lot, being and not being a mod doesn't depend when you make a easy mistake.

I believe so. Just change the mode from disctype game to disctype movie.

did the "tape internal umd sensor" trick work with umd emulator? or was it actually reading content off of the disk?

you can use the newest fastloader i think you don't need a disc in the drive (im pretty sure you don't)

downgrade =D see how it is to use iso's if u dont like the experience and reather have a internet browser u can always upgrade
