Hi Guys
Having successfully upgrading to firmware 3.02oe-a last year I was very happy playing downloaded iso's/cso's and did not feel the need to upgrade to anything newer.
But this morning my little boy presents me with the psp with a black screen and loads of writing it seems that he has somehow downgraded back to the 1.5 firmware.
The 6 games on the memory stick have gone but the pictures and videos have stayed.
There is a file in games titled psp update ver x.yz. I thought this might be the update to put it back to 3.02 but it stated the game could not be started (80020001).
Now my problem is do I need to reformat the memory stick as altough the games have gone the disk space has not been recovered and what can I safely upgrade to now that I am back to ver1.5.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as things have moved on since I finally plucked up the courage to upgrade.
Thanx in advance
Steve

Hmm, that sounds a bit weird.
Does it definitely say that the firmware version "1.50" when you check the System Information?

If so, then the custom firmware update path you want is:
1.50 - 3.52 M33 - 3.52 M33-4 - 3.90 M33-3
Download links:
Dark_AleX's M33 custom firmware
3.52 EBOOT
3.90 EBOOT

The instructions included with the custom firmware are quite clear, but if you need any clarification then just post here. smile.gif

Thank you so much for the help I am now the proud owner of 3.52 M33.
I couldnt get the 3.52M33-4 to work but I am happy with what I have now.
All my ISO's came back but I decided to format the mem stick and start afresh.
Does anyone know what I should have / need as back up in case things go tits up again?

You could set up a Pandora's Battery and Magic Memory Stick, but if I remember correctly you need to be on 3.52 M33-3 or above to do that.
Otherwise you could copy all the files required onto your memory stick for the 1.50 downgrade via Recovery Mode.

I had a simular experience with updating from CFW 3.52 M-33-4 to CFW 3.71 M-33 and that wasn't the firmware I wanted so I used the update X.YZ (FW 1.50) then blue screened. Then I UPDATED to CFW 3.52 M-33-4.
