Im using a psp fat with FW 3.90 m33-2 with 1.50 kernel. It hangs quite often. i play god of war and FF 7. In god of war, whenever there is a cut scene, the psp would hang. None of the button would respond. The screen doesnt turn black but stay on one frame. As for FF7, whenever i get into a battle, the screen would be filled with lines of different colors. after a few second, the psp would hang. when i switch off and on the psp again, i would be asked if i want to exit the game, like when you press the "home" button during a game. PLEASE help. thanks in advance.

Might be your memory card or you firmware might have to be reinstalled (did you have problems before updating to it?)

Install the memory stick patch found here, http://www.psp-spot.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52327

That might fix your problems. If you have an 8gb stick theres another patch that is needed too.

actually, the problem started when i played GOW. at that time, I was still using 3.71. I thought it was the FW problem so i upgraded to 3.90 but the problem is still present. Is it okay if you give me a step by step instruction on how to patch my memory card? im very new to the scene so im afraid that i may brick my psp while experimenting with flash. thanks

Everytime I ran into a BIG problem, reinstalling the CFW and reformatting the ms has always done the trick. Many months ago I had a big freezing problem and ended up reinstalling 3.71m33 twice to get rid of it.(I think a did it wrong or got some bad files) Now I use Pandora and never seem to have a problem with the firmware anymore, and I've reinstalled about 9 times.

With that being said I have also had bad experiences with FF7, in fact the same problem that you have. (The different color matrix glitch). I found that some firmwares have a problem, so don't. I found that 3.71m33-3 plays my FF7 flawlessly (Discs 1-3 - NO problems, not once!! biggrin.gif) . If you don't want to switch back to 3.71m33, I think you can use a older version of popstation (3.00 -3.70, I think) on 3.90 to help with this problem. Don't quote me on this, I just think I remember reading this somewhere! Hope this helps.

Well if you were on 3.71 when the probs started then patching the stick wont change it too much. Try reformatting your memory card and maybe reinstalling the fw.
