Hi all,

I have been trying to figure out how to unbrick (correct me if I'm not using this term right) this new PSP Slim that I bought about 2 weeks ago and have thus far had no luck.
I have a Japanese PSP Slim (I live in Japan now) with the latest 3.90 fw from doing the Network Update directly on the PSP.
I have managed to hard-mod a PSP battery by removing the 4th pin on the EEPROM and get my hands on the "special" files for the MS card (2 folders and 2 files, IPL written using the Pandora's GUI).
However, everytime I put the MS and the battery in, the PSP turns on automatically (not sure if it is suppose to be) and the POWER LED stays on but I get a black screen. It just stays there and I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Can someone help me out?

Yea the psp is surpose to turn on right when you put the battery in.
The magic memory stick you made was not made correctly.
Try remaking that memory stick and it should work for you.

So is my battery fine?
I was a bit worry that I might have damaged the battery when I tried to open it. There is a little dent on the EEPROM though it is not deep so I don't think it would be the problem.
Do you have the correct files?
I don't know anyone who has a cfw PSP to do it for me. Also, I have spent like USD$100 already on 2 batteries because the first one I bought was unfortunately the one where people say they can't find the EEPROM on it. Plus, I am always iffy on buying not-from-factory stuff online, especially on ebay.
Please help me out! I have been busting my ballz for 2 weeks trying to figure this out.

ok ive got 2 links for u. if u have already modded the battery properly and it makes the psp turn on by itself then charge it fully first and then give this guide a go: http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=3780

IF and ONLY IF that guide doesnt work out for u then follow the instructions in this link: http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-hardware-...new-method.html

GOOD LUCK! Keep us informed and enjoy ur newly cracked psp.

I cannot follow either of them because, like I said in the beginning, my PSP is using the original 3.90 fw. No modification has been done to it.
None of my friends have an unbricked PSP.
Therefore, I cannot enter "Service" mode or "Recovery" mode.
This is why I am hoping that someone could help me out. I have the hard-mod battery already.
