Hi all,

I'm sure this topic has been beat to death, but since I'm kinda OCD I'd like to just confirm a few things. First off, my original psp 1000 has died. Took a nasty tumble down a flight of stairs. Good news is it gave me an excuse to go get a new ice silver psp! I'd love to run custom firmware on this thing but a little apprehensive about actually downgrading it. I found a good tutorial here:

I was going to use this, and a friends fat psp I recently modded for him, he has 3.90 M33. I will need the 1.50 kernal for 3.90 I believe? Just want to be sure if I try this I won't brick it. Still has that new psp smell....lol.

**Edit. I should note my psp slim is version 3.72. Am I out of luck?

You should be able to use a pandora battery on your PSP slim, unless I'm mistaken. But as with all downgrading there is a slight chance of bricking but if you follow the intsructions correctly you should be alright. You would need the 1.50 kernel if you want to run homebrew, and whilst you're at it you might as well get 3.90 M33-2.

Happy to Help,

I am 100% sure pandora works on the slim 3.72 that most of the good homebrew works as well without the 1.50 kernel. On top of that we also have the time machine. My slim is on 3.80 m33-2 with DAs time machine installed.

Thanks for the posts guys. I just downgraded my slim using UPMS installer and it worked really slick. Definitely the way to go. It even fixed my friends psp after he accidently did a network update when using 3.40 oe-a.
I'm keeping the ms and battery the way they are so if I ever have another problem I can fix it.
